Light of Nova Patch Notes 20130110
To offer a better gaming experience, we will be performing server maintenance on 0:30 am PST, Thursday, January 10, 2013. Estimated duration: 30 minutes.
The newest patch will be applied within the maintenance. Please check the detailed patch notes below:
Gameplay
- Fuel Consumption has been reduced by 50%.
- Facebook users can now visit their friends to receive extra resources.
- NPC fleets in ABG 6 – 20 have been modified.
- Researching Advanced Engineering now requires a Core Tech.
- Core Tech: can be bought from the Item Mall or made out of 99 tech scrolls which can be found in different levels of ABG. (Existing players will receive a set of Core Tech’s for free.)
User Interface
- Improved Facebook friend panel.

I believe the combination of core tech and difficulty increase in the abgs. will drive away new players. they will have to grind abg 11 forever to get a planet. the new abgs. cost a lot of fighters now. this also slows down advancement of the MS and makes it a lot more time consumming and difficult to get past this bottle neck. the tech cores are blatantly expensive.
this patch is a gamekiller. half my alliance is already quitting because of this insanity. what the hell were you guys thinking? make the game even more slow and demanding. its a fricking wargame. let us build and fight eachother. and not spend half a year just building up to the point where we can actually start a war. increasing shiprequirements for abg’s was just dumb. resourse income is way to low, droprates on needed items has been slashed. and now you are guaranteed to loose ships on storyline and the mandatory farming of abg’s has become a costly buisseness aswell. so how is this still supposed to be a wargame, when it now takes over 6 months just to build a empire up to the point that waging war is possible? I have to hand it to you people: good job on killing youre source of income. good job

This is such a daft idea that if i was in charge and i was the biggest boss around id still fire my self . we have taken it upon our selves to boycott the game until it is removed . Making a mistake is not a problem but to continue is. We have invested so much time and effort in the game and it can not go wasted. the game is time and effort consuming in an extreme manner already. please correct this major screw up at once please.

I’m confused by these changes. They’re so big and so radical, it makes me think this game is still in the beta phases. But, that can’t be true, because there are 16 servers, and it’s been going on for years, I’ve been told.
Sometimes making large and sweeping changes like the ones in this patch are not necessarily a good thing. You change what people know drastically enough to force them to adapt, and then when they have you’ve made it less rewarding that they did. That’s not a positive outcome.
With these new core techs, you implemented the idea, but them seemed so afraid of it, that you gave away the need to use it for free to all existing players. What? So it’s a change that changes nothing, unless you’re new. Then you’re even MORE behind than ever before. Because the mechanism to obtain the required objects is even harder than before.
I’m very confused right now. I used to enjoy playing this game, but the last couple of weeks it looks like someone who can’t decide is in charge.
I have purchased at least a hundred or more dollars in diamonds since I started in November last year, but I am now discouraged to ever spend more money if you are going to tell me the game I am playing and paying into can change so dramatically, that it negates the money I spend.
THIS from a new player now the ABG has changed i can only play the game for 6 hours before i run out of resource was playing for 12h so more time to try new games… thanks joyfort team good move

i see the core tech and scrolls as a good thing it slows down existing players that knows what they are doing playing game going to a new server and dominating it and killing server. good job JF this helps slow the bullying down. now u just need to put in effect a better level system than you already have like 50 or 100 levels for players based on their tech planets seized module upgrades commander levels etc. and only allow players to attack 10 levels up and 10 levels down form their level. for example a level 30 player can attack levels 20-40 players planets on map. this would allow new players to be able to learn more before getting destroyed by a big player.
that is arealey good thort but instead of matching player lvl what about matchig player commander lvl like in arena wair you will onley fight a player commander with in a serten lvl of one another player commander
defender is lvl15
you can onley attak this commander with a lvl20 commander for the 5 rank up or down must apply

granted on forts this rule is not gowing to be a good idear but for planet defence could be a good one
now i do think the core tech prices in item mail are outrageous. i doubt u will ever sell any. and messing with low level abg’s isnt a good idea. u want to make game better put abg 6-12 back the way they where and increase abg 17-30 some
i was against the idea from when i heard about it…
What about people with max planets allready…our foucs is to rank our flags.
thanks to the tech scrolls u have taken vitle flagship space from abgs tech srolls for someone like myself who has max planets is a pointless idea and hasent been thought threw properly..
like this.. for someone with maxplanets there should be an option button to turn tech srolls off from abgs..
On the other hand, it a money grabbing option, forceing players to either PAY to play ur game, its not a free game anymore, to advance we have to pay..
because abg is a stupid way of dropping them as thats for Flahships..

i have 6 planets an ive been farming abg25 for rinos ive just got another tech scrolls what am i ment to be dowing with sum think that ime not guna use or need so my question is this Is the drop rate for BP’s gowing to be affectided by this change …my understanding of all this aint much but if i start getting more tech scrolls than i was in BP’s ime not guna be happy as its hard anoth to get them as it is with out more crap clutering up my inventory with things that i have no use for now ime at the point of not beaing able to do eney more with out paying for it …….this if a grate way to put of the free players that just wana have fun now its more like hard work and the fun has been suked out of this game ….change is all ways good Yes but peanlising new players even befor that start or us oldplayers wanting to start on new servers will now be put of if not quit the game all together…..instead of making it harder for new players whay not make it ezey yer for the new players and harder for the more advance players ….as it stands if you dont pay like £600.00+ thir is no way for eney one to play at a good anoth pace to justafay playing….all i can now see about this game new free players will get a much harder and thos that pay big muney to be ahead have to pay a stupid amount of muney £600.00 to pay on a game is outragus even to be one of the big boys £60.00 is the most ive seen on most games just so you can advance witch is fine and muney ide be happy to pay as would most ppl……cal all this rambling if you will but its how i feall about this game ie ITS NOT WORTH MY TIME OR MUNEY

I like how this patch is so important, it overrides the having a race quest on S16.
OK this is pissing me off…you tell us you change the levels 1-20 ABGs and thats a load of crap because you changed ALL off the abgs. Once again you do something to us without telling or warning us….this is the point were i seriously consider taking myself and my money and going somewhere else.

If your going to run your game into the ground with horrible changes can you please just sell it to another company so they can do it right. This change is nothing but a pathetic money grab attempt while adding no real value to the game and literally running new players out the door. You would make much more money if your prices were reasonable sadly you are so greedy even a 50% price cut really would still have 90% of the in game items over priced.
I used to buy diamonds way back when before the last few updates took place. I think I spend about 350 on this game just to advance myself in Server 3. But with all these new and “improved” updates taking place, I have saved money. I have not bought a single diamond, and it is not because of the 3 free a day crap either. The prices are too high, the availablity of items are way off, and the demand of half of them do no even exist any more. Your entire Diamond Buying needs to be rethought, as well as the Diamond Mall, or Item Mall whatever you call it. If you are going to make certain things available for diamonds, make them all available. Bring back the idea of purchasing Nova and Resources through the diamond mall, and offer larger packs for discount amounts. Not 1 Wormhole for 20 Diamonds and 2 for 39 or 5 for 95. but something resaonable. 1 for 10 and maybe 5 for 45, and 10 for 80. Think about it. You lower the prices on the costs, and more people will buy them. Raise the price of the costs and less people will buy them. That you learn in Business 101 in college. I should know I just took the damn class. I would go on, but your not going to listen.

i have a good idea, why don’t the developers start checking on the tickets that have been filed and start to fix them!!!! i’ve been waiting for a couple of days now and made 3 tickets already and still nothing happens!!!!!!
